It’s been overheard by this reporter, that several survivors of the 2014 Camp Schoenherr Expedition, claim this was the worst weather ever faced on a Troop 96 campout!
On Saturday, April 12, 2014, Michigan was hit by a violent Spring thunderstorm. It left thousands without power and the generated straight-line winds left a path of wreckage that ruined trees, homes, cars, powerlines, businesses and more! Hail and heavy winds took a toll on many communities, especially Lake Orion, Michigan.
We always remind ourselves of the importance of safety and being prepared. Scouts can take anything, and this past weekend, we did!
We are glad there was no reported loss of life, but for many Michiganders, the cleanup and repairs will take many weeks to complete.
