On March 7, 2015, several Troop 96 scouts, parents and family members participated in the Grosse Pointe Memorial Church’s “Kids Against Hunger” campaign, with the goal to produce 150,000 meal bags in two days! On our first day, we did break the halfway mark, putting together over 76,000 bags!
These bags will be crated up and sent to organizations that feed the hungry, both locally and around the world. This was a fun and exciting event, and dozens of people from the community came to help out. It was nice to see all the T96’ers there.
If you couldn’t make it on the 7th, you have another chance on March 21, from 8:30 – 4:00! We especially need help in the early morning, to unload the truck! Scouts! Come get your service hours! You need them for rank advancement, and besides, it’s a worthwhile cause.
On Monday, September 15, we had two scouts advance in rank.
Congratulations to Patrick Schmitz, who completed the rank of Star Scout… and to Teddy Prokop, who is now a Life Scout!
All year long, the scouts work hard to advance in rank and earn merit badges. These two scouts help set the bar and get our season off to a great running start!
On May 16, both TJ Dulac and Donovan Dunham attended NYLT training at D-Bar-A Scout Reservation. Also, Jimmy Fennessey and Matthew Fleckenstein served at instructors! Nice job, everyone.
Harrison Krasner has just completed his primary requirements for Eagle, pending his Board of Review. Congratulations!
Donovan Dunham passed his Eagle Board of Review on February 24, 2014.
Please join us in congratulating him on this awesome and important milestone in his scouting life!
Donovan’s Eagle project was collecting children’s books for the Head Start program at Poupard Elementary. He collected over 900 books for the kids!
Donovan’s plans include attending summer camp and working with young scouts, while pursuing several Eagle Palm Awards! He is also attending NYLT training in May.
